Pool Operations Manager

Reports To

General Manager, Assistant General Manager

FLSA Status:

Non-Exempt

Summary

Oversees the quality and success of all pool operations, including managing Deck Supervisors, Golden Teachers, Swim Instructors, on-deck staff, maintaining the pool environment, and interacting with students and parents/guardians. Maintains expert knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum and management policies. Conducts audits and improves operational efficiencies by merging, closing, or creating classes as needed. Ensures proper scheduling, class sizes, and costs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provides leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to staff to ensure quality delivery of curriculum.
  2. Conducts evaluations of staff and maintains high standards.
  3. Interacts with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  4. Acts as a GSS ambassador to ensure customer satisfaction.
  5. Performs weekly audits of various operational aspects and reports findings.
  6. Serves as a substitute when necessary.
  7. Prepares weekly reports based on audits and observations.
  8. Supports staff development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
  9. Holds meetings with staff and management to review performance and training needs.
  10. Assists in conducting workshops and training sessions.
  11. Establishes relationships with new employees and conducts new hire training.
  12. Floats in the water weekly to ensure standards are met.
  13. Works with management on training goals and reports.
  14. Supports safety initiatives and special events.
  15. Supervises staff and manages class schedules and operations.
  16. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred. At least two years as a swim instructor required. Experience in youth sports, camp counseling, or teaching preferred. College degree and CPO certification optional.

Certificates and Licenses

Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Ellis certifications required.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity; noise levels are moderate.
