Job summary

SPS PoolCare in Gilbert, AZ is looking for a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee. You will assist the team with cleaning and maintaining client pools, and you’ll learn to test and balance water chemistry while documenting results. There are sign-on bonuses available depending on experience.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong customer service, basic math, and the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds; training is provided on-site with ongoing supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
  • Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
  • Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
  • Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
  • Inspects pool and equipment.
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

*Paid out in two installments at 90 days and 180 days

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
  • Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
  • Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.

  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
  • Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
