Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
May include but not limited to:
Water Quality & Chemistry
- Test and balance water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, etc.)
- Apply chemicals safely and accurately to ensure water quality meets health department standards
- Maintain detailed logs for all chemical testing and treatments
Pool Cleaning & Presentation
- Vacuum pool floors and skim surface debris daily
- Brush pool walls, steps, and waterline tiles
- Maintain clean and organized pool deck, loungers, umbrellas, and surrounding areas
Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect and maintain pool pumps, filters, heaters, timers, and automatic chlorinators
- Perform routine cleaning of filters and backwash systems
- Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions to the Facilities Manager
- Coordinate with vendors for major repairs or inspections as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the pool area is compliant with local health and safety regulations
- Keep safety equipment (lifebuoys, signs, etc.) in good condition and correctly positioned
- Report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
- Support lifeguards in ensuring a safe and enjoyable pool environment
Member Interaction & Communication
- Interact with club members in a professional, friendly manner
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or concerns
- Communicate regularly with management about pool status and upcoming needs
Qualifications
What You Need for this Position
- Minimum 5 years of pool maintenance experience (country club, resort, or hospitality experience preferred) or 3+ years experience at a property with multiple bodies of water
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) (preferred) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of pool chemistry and filtration systems
- Strong attention to detail and service mindset
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
