Job summary

SPS PoolCare is seeking a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee to assist in maintaining pools at client sites and associated facilities in Key West, FL. The role involves physical tasks, chemical treatments, and routine water testing, with on-the-job training provided.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least one year of related experience, plus the ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform all cleaning and maintenance duties safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of related experience is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Physically able to perform all aspects of pool cleaning and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assist Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
