Join to apply for the POOL LIFEGUARD (MULTIPLE POSITIONS) role at Palm Beach County.

Perform skilled water safety work in preventing accidents and injuries at a County swimming pool. Safeguard patrons and enforce safety rules; instruct swim lessons for all ages; rescue bathers in distress; perform emergency water rescue techniques; administer First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), or Automated External Defibrillator (AED) when necessary. Provide positive and professional assistance to patrons; assist with routine facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification.
• Valid certificates at the time of application:
  • American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training/recognized equivalent Certification
  • ARC or American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification/recognized equivalent Certification
  • ARC Standard First Aid OR First Responder OR FL Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/Paramedic Certification)
• Must obtain ARC Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preference for: One (1) year of experience as a Lifeguard; valid ARC WSI Certification.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
• Applicants are requested to upload copies of the required certifications to the application.
• Must pass a 500-yard pool swim in under 10 minutes and a CPR skills test at the time of interview.
