Job summary

A leading aquatic education center in Yonkers seeks a Pool Deck Supervisor to deliver swim instruction and ensure safety. Candidates must have aquatics experience and excellent interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include enforcing safety regulations, evaluating swimmers' progress, and maintaining a clean pool area. Qualifications

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Enforce safety rules to ensure a safe environment.
• Evaluate students’ progress and engage with parents after lessons.
• Assist with pool setup and cleanup.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe aquatic environment
• Evaluates students’ progress and completes documentation accurately and promptly
• Engages with parents/guardians after each lesson to discuss swimmer development
• Identifies and addresses student challenges using problem-solving and creativity
• Assists with pool setup and cleanup, including storing equipment properly
• Participates in required workshops and in-service training

Job Requirements and Skills

• Aquatics experience required (e.g., lifeguarding, swim team, swim instruction, water safety, competitive swimming, or similar)
• Weekend availability required
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, swim instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is a plus strong ability to work with children in an energetic, supportive, and safety-focused environment
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must pass background checks (provided as part of training)
• High School Diploma/GED required; Some college preferred
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications encouraged (training provided and rewarded with pay increases)
• Must complete certification courses within 3 months of employment

Starting Pay Rate: $16.50/hour with regular opportunities for increases
