Job Title: Deck Supervisor

Reports to: General Manager/Assistant General Manager/Pool Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Responsible for managing the shift, supervising on-deck staff, maintaining the pool environment, and engaging with students and parents/guardians. Demonstrates expert knowledge of GSS curriculum and policies.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading, disciplining, and providing feedback to instructors and deck staff
• Conducting pre-shift meetings and preparing the deck
• Evaluating staff performance
• Interacting with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Ensuring customer satisfaction as a GSS ambassador
• Monitoring attendance and maintaining logs
• Ensuring pool cleanliness and chemical levels
• Arranging replacements for absent staff
• Substituting as a swim instructor when needed
• Suggesting improvements and participating in training
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• At least two years as a swim instructor required
• Experience in youth sports, camp counseling, or teaching preferred
• College degree preferred
• Certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid required (training available)

Work Environment: Exposure to heat and humidity; moderate noise levels.
