Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is hiring a Pre Lifeguard associate to support pool operations under the Swim Director. You will complete required training to become a certified lifeguard and help maintain safety and cleanliness on the pool deck during operating hours.

You’ll work with youth and families, enforcing YMCA policies, and upholding the four YMCA values—Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility—while contributing to a positive member experience and community wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete required training and certifications to become a certified lifeguard.
• Ability to work with youth and families.
• Commitment to following YMCA Code of Conduct and center policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety on the pool deck during operating hours.
• Assist with cleanliness and operation of the swimming pool.
• Support communication between associates and members/parents.
• Enforce Y in Central Maryland policies and guidelines.
• Engage members to deliver quality experiences and superior service.
