Job summary

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is seeking a pharmacist to provide accurate and efficient pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting in Tampa, FL. Under general supervision, you will support clinical pharmacy services for patients, nurses, and medical staff, and participate in pharmacotherapy consults, staff development, and drug programs.

You will assess age-specific medication needs, monitor therapies, and process orders.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Pharmacy with residency, or Pharm D degree from accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent training/experience.
• Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
• One year prior experience in a hospital, or related experience with clinical pharmacy.
• Completion of ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of three years of pediatric clinical and operational experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Position requires supervision of sterile compounding activities, technicians, and pediatric satellite pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

BS Pharmacy with residency

Participates in Pharmacotherapy Consult service, staff development and education, and targeted drug programs. Assesses the age-specific needs of patients served while monitoring patient medication use and processing medication orders. Able to perform all of the duties of a registered Pharmacist. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
