Job description

To provide the best service possible to our guests and to seek moments to be extraordinary in what we do.

Responsibilities
  1. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  2. Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  3. Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
  4. Answer questions on menu selections to guests.
  5. Able to work in tandem with Food Runner by anticipating all steps of service, guests’ needs, and coordinating food and drink delivery and cleanup in unison.
  6. Guide guests through dining experience through situational and suggestive selling.
  7. Personalize and customize each guest experience.
  8. Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability.
  9. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  10. Record transactions in MICROS system at the time of order.
  11. Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  12. Meet and maintain check average goals set forth by management.
  13. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, server stations, etc., throughout the day.
  14. Complete closing duties, including restocking items, clearing pool area, etc.
  15. Maintain all restaurant assets in pristine condition and report any deficiencies to management.
  16. Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payments.
  17. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
  18. Own guest opportunities and resolve them through empowerment.
  19. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  20. Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  21. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
  22. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  23. Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees.
  24. Practice effective listening: seek to understand.
  25. Always live by Terranea’s vision, mission, and values when interacting with internal and external guests.
  26. Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property.
  27. Subscribe to proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards as set forth by company policy.
  28. Be courteous to all guests and coworkers.
  29. Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  30. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  31. Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at the resort pool.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area; be alert to any signs of trouble.
  • Ensure safety of guests and enforcement of pool rules and precautions according to department standards.
  • Secure storage areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures, scheduled group activities and locations within the hotel, all hotel facilities and services, hours of operation of each outlet, and all safety and sanitation regulations for the pool facility.
Qualifications
  • Food & Beverage experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Food Handler’s and RBS Certification required.
Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $18.37/Hr.
