Job summary

City Of Bonner Springs seeks an Assistant Pool Manager to oversee the daily operation of the Bonner Springs Aquatic Park. You will supervise lifeguards and swim instructors, enforce safety policies and coordinate staff assignments to ensure a smooth, safe experience for all guests.

You will monitor activities, respond to emergencies, maintain records, and participate in mandatory trainings. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
• Experience as an Assistant Pool Manager or Pool Manager preferred.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard, Waterpark and Bloodborne Pathogen certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training, supervising and evaluating lifeguards/swim instructors.
• Implement staff schedules and daily assignments.
• Monitor activities and prevent accidents in the aquatics facility.
• Respond to swimmers in danger and handle illnesses/injuries promptly.
• Maintain accurate records (attendance, incidents, chlorine readings, schedules).
• Enforce all facility rules and policies; communicate with Pool Manager as needed.
• Manage swim instructors during lessons and lead lessons when necessary.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings; promote programs and center memberships.
