Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks a Registered Polysomnography Technologist to join our sleep medicine team. You will participate in on-the-job training, obtain clinic hours and board registration within two years, and deliver holistic patient care in collaboration with other professionals.

Qualifications

• Must hold BRPT credential recognized by the BRPT.
• Be board registered within one year of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Board registration aimed within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in on-the-job training, working toward competence in polysomnography.
• Obtains 546 clinic hours and board registration within two years of hire.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to deliver holistic patient care.
• Explains testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Monitors patient comfort and safety during testing; responds to pathology with appropriate interventions.
• Proficient in polysomnography equipment and protocols.
• Completes and maintains patient EMR/chart documentation accurately and timely.
• Keeps Lead Technologist/Director informed of work issues and changes affecting service.
• Maintains and troubleshoots patient scheduling, verifies insurance, and completes patient registration.
• Participates in community wellness and disease-specific education programs.

• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot the patient schedule, verify insurance, and complete patient registration.
• Participates in community wellness and disease specific education programs.

What You Will Need:

• Currently has a healthcare credential recognized by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
