Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Polysomnography Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. Your expertise will help diagnose and treat sleep disorders, significantly impacting our patients' well-being.

Performance, scoring and analysis of Polysomnograms., Multiple Sleep Latency Tests and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests, and PAP naps

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)Work Schedule: Nights

Qualifications
  • Polysomnography Tech I
    • High School or GED
    • BLS certification required at the time of hire.
    • Clinical Polysomnography program within 90 days of employment.
    • Respiratory Therapist would be considered for this position.
    • NM Medical Board Polysomnographic Technician license required within 90 days of hire.
    • Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) required within 2 years of employment. Candidates selected for this position must sign an agreement to obtain this credential.
    • If candidate is a licensed respiratory Therapist, then Polysomnography Tech is not a requirement.
  • Polysomnography Tech II
    • High School or GED
    • Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) credential required.
    • NM Polysomnography or Respiratory Care license required.
    • Minimum 18 months experience in Clinical Polysomnography preferred.
    • BLS Certification is required at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
  • All Polysomnographic Technician duties.
  • Scores sleep studies.
  • Assists with the development/revision of Sleep Center policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with Sleep Center physicians regarding their patients and/or testing procedures.
  • Assists with training of Polysomnographic Trainees and Technicians, including overseeing testing performance.
  • Assists with Quality Monitoring.
  • Orders supplies.
  • Teaches patient PAP classes, as needed.
  • Performs as Charge Tech i.e. workload assignment, decision-making, end of shift report.
  • Assists with patient compliance program, as needed, including making patient follow-up contacts.
  • Attends inservices and meetings as required.
