Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI, is seeking a polysomnographic technician to perform sleep study procedures and related neurological testing under supervision. You will operate testing equipment and provide accurate data for physicians.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with experience or enrollment in an accredited sleep technology program aiming for an associate degree. Night shifts and a 36-hour weekly schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus six months of direct patient care experience or one year of postsecondary education.
• Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, responsible for performing either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations.
• Must be able to take direction to understand the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance/troubleshooting procedures.
• Monitors and documents appropriately in medical record per facility guidelines.
• Ability to work with all age groups and those with growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.
• Performs other department specific duties as required.

Summary

Under supervision of polysomnographic technologist, performs quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG), as well as titration, multiple sleep latency (MSLT), and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT). Records and provides relevant and accurate data to physicians for diagnostic use in the treatment of patients with sleep/wake disorders.
