Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech) for the Lockport sleep center. The role involves overnight shifts, patient preparation, equipment calibration, PAP titration, and data collection to diagnose sleep disorders.

Eligibility includes an accredited polysomnography program and BLS; RPSGT or CPSGT with RPSGT within 6 months is expected. Comprehensive benefits and 401(k) match are offered.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited polysomnographic program with emphasis on polysomnography or ASTEP pathway.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or CPSGT on hire with RPSGT within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and review patient histories, meds, and study protocols.
  • Explain procedures and orient patient to sleep lab.
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing.
  • Perform PAP mask fitting and titration.
  • Follow specified sleep study protocols (MSLT, MWT, parasomnias).
  • Document baseline values and data collection.
  • Assist with scoring sleep stages and events.
  • Generate and review sleep study reports.

The technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.Gather & review patient information -histories, medications, procedure request and study protocolExplain procedures and orient patient to sleep labPrepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessaryPerform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittingFollow procedural protocols (such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc. to ensure collection of appropriate dataFollow "lights out" procedures to establish and document baseline valuesPerform polysomnographic data acquisitionDocument routine observationsImplement appropriate interventionsFollow "lights on" procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection processAssist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical eventsGenerate accurate reportsComply with applicable laws, regulations & guidelinesPerform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluationsAll other duties as assignedQualifications:Successful completion of an accredited polysomnographic program leading to an associate’s degree with emphasis on polysomnographySuccessful completion of an accredited polysomnographic program with emphasis on polysomnography or completion of ASTEP ProgramRegistered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required OR Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) upon hire with RPSGT obtained within 6 months of hireBLS certification requiredA minimum of 3 years experience as a Polysomnographic Technician preferred.New grads feel free to apply!The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $25.94-38.91 with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
