Position: Polysomnographic Technologist - Sleep Medicine

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Polysomnographic Tech to join our Sleep Medicine team. The Polysomnographic Technologist will be responsible for evaluating and providing sleep studies as approved by the medical directors of sleep medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the pulmonary services director.

  • Minimum of 1 shift every 8 weeks
  • Third Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Responsibilities:

Ensure high-quality patient care by evaluating and providing sleep studies as approved by the medical directors of sleep medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the pulmonary services director.

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved respiratory care program, or an associate degree in a health-related field, or completion of an approved Polysomnographic Technology program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • If a Respiratory Therapist, credentialed as CRT or RRT (RRT preferred) and licensed in Nebraska.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with computer technology.
  • Registered Polysomnography Technician (RPSGT) by BRPT within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, effective for hires from January 1, 2023, onward.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience as a respiratory therapist.
  • Prior scoring experience.
  • Clinical experience in a sleep lab.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with equipment within scope of practice.
