Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist in Milwaukee, WI. This ON-SITE position is responsible for comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and treatment of sleep disorders, while providing resource support to the sleep center staff. Candidates must have at least 1 year prior experience in polysomnographic testing, an RPSGT certification, and a high school diploma. Job description

Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.

This job is ON – SITE.

FTE: 0.9

Standard Hours: 36.00

Shift: 3rd (Wednesday – Friday, 18:45 – 06:45). Will travel all three Froedtert Sleep Lab locations to help cover night shifts.

Job Summary

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the clinical director. The position also provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. The Polysomnographic Technologist acts as a resource person to all sleep center staff to assure continuity of quality patient care in accordance with the Sleep Center's objectives, policies, and procedures. Administers an advanced level of practice in sleep medicine, and has an advanced understanding of Neurodiagnostics.

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of prior work experience in polysomnographic testing and sleep disorders is required.
• Previous experience with 4-5 years prior work experience in Respiratory Care and/or EEG Testing is preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR successful completion a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician is required. Associate degree in Respiratory Care is preferred.

Licensure

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) is required.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner or Registered EEG Technologist is preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Special Skills

Knowledge of polysomnographic testing, scoring of records, therapeutic interventions and sleep clinic modalities.
