Job Description - Polysomnographic Technologist (Certified) - Nights - PRN/Hourly (7479-10063)

Position Summary:

A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the supervision of the medical director or designee to evaluate and treat sleep disorders. Responsibilities include testing, diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, patient care, and education. They can perform duties of a Polysomnographic Technician and may oversee other sleep center staff. The technologist must be credentialed in Sleep Technology and manage care across all age groups.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited sleep technology program leading to a certificate or associate degree; or equivalent experience with documented proficiency; or other allied health credential with sleep credential within 12 months.
  • Experience: Knowledge of CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen therapy, and device application; basic computer skills.
  • Certification: Certification by a recognized board (e.g., RPSGT, RST, SDS); CPR/BLS certification. Certification must be obtained within 12 months if not already held.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with sleep studies, scoring, and review; knowledge of sleep devices; membership in professional organizations.
