Job description

Position Summary

The Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and associated interventions under the general oversight of a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Clinical Director or designee. They can also provide functional supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of an accredited Sleep Technologist Training Program. An Associate of Arts, Science degree, or Bachelor's degree in science is preferred.

Experience

RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 18 months experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee, demonstrating proficiency in all required competencies.

Skills

Current CPR (BCLS) Certification. Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation). Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to adapt to changing tasks and stressful situations. Ability to work cooperatively within the healthcare team, including patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Analytical and critical thinking abilities for problem-solving.
