Job summary

Salinas Valley Radiologists, Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Polysomnographic Technologist to perform multi-channel PSG testing in the Sleep Center. You will conduct CPAP/BIPAP/ASV titrations, accurately place monitors, and document events and patient data in the hospital systems.

The role requires licensure in California, RRT or NBRC registration, and RPSGT certification where applicable. Expect variable shifts and per diem scheduling in Salinas, CA with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA accredited Respiratory Care Program or completed polysomnography training with registration.
• Current California State Polysomnographic Technologist license or California Respiratory Care Practitioners license required.
• RPSGT certification required or NBRC registration as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) per NBRC.

Responsibilities

• Perform technically high-quality polysomnography with 16+ channels.
• Set up PSG monitors (EMG, EKG, EEG, oximeter, sensors, belts, etc.).
• Administer CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAPS titrations and oxygen as needed.
• Chart events, patient behaviors, and information in EPIC/Meditech.
• Maintain equipment through calibration, cleaning and minor repairs.
• Stock supplies and support clerical tasks as needed.
• Stay current with sleep medicine literature and technologies.

Performs technically high-quality PSG testing as outlined in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Performs CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAP titrations. Maintains sleep apnea and titration logs during tests. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.* Performs non-invasive polysomnography using 16 or more channels.* Correctly and accurately places PSG monitors (EMG, EKG, EEG, Oximeter, nasal and oral thermistors, leg leads, upper airway sensor, respiratory belts, and other monitors needed).* Sets up CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAPS ; administers oxygen therapy as necessary.* Charts all patient events, behaviors, and information.* Uses Hospital EPIC/ Meditech computer system.* Performs preventative maintenance, calibration, minor repairs, cleaning, and disinfecting equipment.* Performs related duties, such as, stocking supplies, clerical duties, satisfying telephone and other staff inquiries.* Stays current on sleep literature and new technologies.* Performs other duties as assigned.Education: Graduate from an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited Respiratory Care Program required or successful completion of training in polysomnography with registration achieved.**Licensure:** Current California State Polysomnographic Technologist license or California Respiratory Care Practitioners license required.
