Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician to perform comprehensive sleep studies and assist with interventions under supervision. The role requires adherence to quality testing protocols and effective communication with the sleep team.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a polysomnography program, and CPR certification; post-secondary education in sleep technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication.
• Completion of polysomnography program preferred; state licensure/ accreditation preferred.
• One year post-secondary education in sleep technology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis under supervision.
• Assist in preparing rooms, cleaning equipment, and coordinating patient flow as needed.

Job description

• This role performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist (RST, RPSGT, CPSGT) and/or the clinical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. A Polysomnographic Technician can provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee. PSG-Tech may assist technologists in scoring, cleaning of equipment, rooms, making phone calls, etc.. depending of SDC needs & level of his or her training.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
• Experience:
• Six months of experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies is preferred.
• Education and Training:
• High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a polysomnography program, of no less than one year duration, associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility preferred. One year of post-secondary education or current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology or college education preferred.
