Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a Per Diem Sleep Technologist to monitor the Sleep Lab quality, educate patients, and consult with physicians.

You will perform polysomnographic studies, score reports, calibrate equipment, ensure infection control, and communicate results to patients, families, and referring physicians. This onsite night shift at 300 Crown Colony offers a competitive salary range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; associate’s in health sciences preferred.
• Licenses: BLS, RPSGT, and RST preferred.
• 1-2 years polysomnography tech experience with multiple patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic studies in a clinical setting, including oxygen and nasal CPAP titrations.
• Scores studies and formulates reports for physician interpretation; documents patient events.
• Communicates instructions, results, and information to patients, physicians, and family members.
• Calibrates and maintains equipment; notifies personnel for problems; ensures infection control.
• Consults with physicians regarding patient studies as needed.
• Maintains standards for quality improvement and quality control measurements.
• May establish and implement performance improvements including staff education and development.

Summary
Responsible for monitoring and accessing Sleep Lab quality, policies and procedures, staff and equipment performance. Communicates and educates patients and families regarding sleep disorders and treatments. Consults with referring physicians regarding patient results.

Essential Functions

• Performs polysomnographic studies in a clinical setting, including oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure titrations
• Scores studies and formulates reports for physician interpretation. Documents all pertinent patient events according to department policy
• Communicates instructions, results, and relative information to patients, physicians, and family members
• Calibrates and performs routine and troubleshooting maintenance on equipment; notifies proper personnel for equipment problems; cleans all equipment ensuring infection control
• Consults with physicians regarding patient studies as needed
• Maintains standards for completeness of quality improvement and quality control measurements
• May establish and implement performance improvements including education and staff development

Qualifications
