Job summary

Braskem is seeking a motivated Researcher for the U.S. Polyolefin Catalysis team at the Innovation and Technology Center in Pittsburgh.

You will contribute to discovery, development, and scale-up of heterogeneous polyolefin catalysts, translating business needs into improved catalyst solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on catalyst synthesis, planning polymerization experiments, evaluating performance, and guiding development from lab to pilot and industrial scale, with collaboration across

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science.
• Hands-on catalyst synthesis, discovery and development experience.
• Strong knowledge of heterogeneous catalysis and structure–property relationships.
• Experience with Ziegler–Natta catalysts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize catalysts and plan polymerization experiments.
• Evaluate catalyst performance and analyze results.
• Scale-up catalysts from lab to pilot and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with global teams on catalyst technology development.
• Mentor researchers and maintain safety in the lab.
