Job summary

Alpek Polyester USA, LLC is seeking a Chemical Operator for its Pearl River site in Bay St Louis, MS. The ideal candidate will monitor and control the Melt Phase and Solid State Polymerization processes in a continuous manufacturing setting, ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot reactors, pumps, condensers, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in a technical field; 2+ years chemical operator/handler experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; good interpersonal communication and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating parameters by reading gauges, instruments, and meters; log readings and take action as needed.
• Collect samples for analysis and adjust processes based on trends or re-sampling needs.
• Respond to alarms and follow procedures to startup/shutdown equipment.
• Use equipment knowledge and procedures to maintain continuous operation of the process equipment.
