Polymer Compounding Production TechnicianStep into the night shift at Teknor Apex and help build the custom compounds that power products around the world. What a night on our floor looks likeYou arrive at 6:45pm, gear up, and walk your line. You verify item and lot numbers against orders, stage materials for blending, and set up the extruder. Throughout the shift, you monitor outputs, make mechanical adjustments, and document everything legibly. Between runs, you tidy the area, coordinate with teammates for smooth changeovers, and keep a sharp eye on personal and team safety. When needed, you safely operate a fork truck to move materials and finished goods. At 7:00am, the day team is ready to pick up where you left off—clean area, clear notes, and accurate production paperwork.Who we areOur story began in 1924 when Alfred Fain opened a small tire store in Rhode Island. Nearly a century later, Teknor Apex has grown into an international custom compounder with nine U.S. sites and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. We remain privately held, and today Fain’s grandson leads the company, preserving a family tradition of strong relationships with employees and customers—relationships that fuel better, tailored compound solutions.“Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.” ~Jon FainPay, perks, and programsCompetitive salary based on experienceTraining and growth opportunitiesRewards programPaid breaksUniforms provided with cleaning serviceCompany eventsMonthly Bonus ProgramBenefits, including:Retirement: 401kDental, vision and health insuranceTuition Reimbursement2 Weeks Paid Vacation (Time can be taken after 90 days of Employment)Schedule and overtimeRotating two-week pattern with seven total workdays:Week 1: Sun, Wed, ThuWeek 2: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat12-hour shifts:Day: 6:45am – 7:00pmNight: 6:45pm – 7:00am (this opening aligns to Night Shift)Built-in overtime includes Sundays and all hours over 40 each weekVoluntary overtime availableWhat you’ll handleFollow written and verbal instructions accuratelyVerify manufacturing details (item numbers, lot numbers, quantities)Record production data clearly on required formsKeep the work area orderly and cleanPrioritize personal and team safety at all timesUse basic computer skills to complete ongoing training modulesBonus skills we valueBlending operationsExtruder operationsTroubleshooting aptitudeMechanical abilitiesLeadership capabilityProper and safe fork truck operationPhysical demandsLift up to 55 lbsStand for extended periodsFrequently climb, bend, and stretchEqual OpportunityTeknor Apex is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any protected status under state or federal laws.
