We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Polymer Chemist to lead the research and development of our bio-degradant and other additive technologies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in polymer science, including synthesis, formulation, and characterization of polymeric materials. This role involves working on innovative projects that contribute to the development of new materials and products.

As a Polymer Chemist, you will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to develop new additives or improve existing ones, especially relating to the end-of-life for plastics. Your day-to-day will involve leading cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing, to ensure that the additives and materials meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Your expertise will be critical in solving complex material performance challenges and driving innovation.

Key responsibilities include developing polymer additive formulations, conducting testing, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports. Therefore, it is critical to stay current with the quickly progressing advancements in polymer science and applying this knowledge to ongoing projects. In this role, you will also be tasked with scaling up laboratory processes to pilot or production scale, requiring collaboration with process engineers and production teams.

The successful candidate should have an advanced degree in chemistry, materials science, or a related field, with a focus on polymers. Experience with analytical techniques such as FTIR, GPC, and rheometric is an asset. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are also important. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in polymer research or development
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques such as GPC, FTIR,and rheometric
  • Strong understanding of polymer synthesis and processing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with scale-up and manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
