Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a full-time research position in Kolthoff Hall with the Hillmyer group. The role centers on modern polymer characterization, equipment maintenance, waste handling, and data acquisition in a busy academic lab.

You will lead instrumentation support, train researchers, assist in safety procedures, and contribute to literature reviews and grant proposals. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a defined end date of 6/30/2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related fields is required.
• Four years of combined lab experience valued.
• Experience with laboratory safety protocols desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead polymer characterization lab tasks and maintain equipment.
• Train and supervise undergraduate and graduate researchers.
• Contribute to safety protocols and SOP development.
• Prepare summaries, literature reviews, and grant proposals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, polymer science and engineering or related college courses and work experience in a laboratory setting totaling at least four years in combination.
