Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of digital, social, or video producing, editing, and writing experience.
• Deep knowledge of politics, campaigns, elections, and the 2028 cycle.
• Expert Adobe Premiere skills, with the ability to edit under tight deadlines.
• Experience producing and editing original digital video for social audiences.
• Strong scriptwriting, headline-writing, copy-editing, and storytelling skills.
• Excellent editorial judgment, identifying the most newsworthy elements.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced news environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and independent editorial direction.
• Familiarity with YouTube livestream technology and digital production workflows.
• Experience covering politics and elections.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, write, produce, and edit vertical videos daily for social platforms.
• Produce original social and digital video with a focus on politics and the 2028 race.
• Partner with DC political unit, campaign teams, reporters, editors to strengthen framing.
• Transform segments into high-performing digital video.
• React quickly to breaking news with distinctive, accurate videos.
• Distill complex political stories into concise storytelling for broad audiences.
• Generate pitches for original video and 2028 formats.
• Edit longer-form video for YouTube, OTT, livestreams and other platforms.
• Write sharp scripts, headlines, captions, and descriptions.
• Work with anchors, contributors, and reporters on digital storytelling.
• Ensure work meets editorial, legal, and accuracy requirements.
