Job summary

Stone Systems in Austin, TX is seeking a Polisher for our fabrication shop to operate polishing equipment and achieve high-quality finishes on marble, granite, and quartz. The role offers growth in a multinational environment within Cosentino's international group.

You will polish, glaze, and buff parts, inspect against templates, maintain a clean station, wear PPE, and support teammates. High school diploma required; forklift experience and physical capability requested; starting pay $17–$19

Qualifications

• Basic math and maintenance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate polishing equipment to achieve target finish.

At Stone Systems (www.stone-systems.com/) we are looking for aPolisher for our fabrication shop located in Austin, TX, who will have the opportunity to work in a multinational environment, in full expansion, surrounded by numerous challenging projects that you can be part of.

What you will do

As a Polisher for Stone Systems, you are going to be responsible for operating polishing equipment to obtain desired polish and luster on parts and products.
Job Expectations:

• Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools
• Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure the dimensions stay the same
• Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework
• Ensure proper use of equipment
• Work in a collaborative environment by helping coworkers in other stations if needed
• Maintain a clean station
• Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.)
• Ensure safety procedures are followed
• Other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

• Experience in fabricating marble, granite and quartz
• Experience in construction, industrial and manufacturing fields
• Experience in material polishing
• Experience operating a forklift

EDUCATION
Required:

• High School Diploma/GED

KNOWLEDGE
Required:

• Basic knowledge of math (adding, subtracting, measurements, etc)
• Basic knowledge of maintenance

SKILLS
Required:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

The starting hourly range for this position is between $17 - 19/hr
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible Potential Annual Award depending on individual performance and Company performance, in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, including Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Short-term and Long-term Disability and Basic Life and Supplemental Insurance. You will also be eligible to enroll in our 401(k) Retirement Plan, starting the first of the month.
Paid time off:
Vacation time will be accrued monthly and will be subject to change per the Company’s policy updates. 5 days of sick time. Full-time employees will receive 2 floating holidays to use each year. If hired after July 1, employees receive 1 floating holiday to use for that calendar year.
