Job summary

Sinatra Bar & Lounge in Nashville seeks a Server Assistant to support the service team by keeping tables, stations, and the dining room polished, organized, and prepared throughout service. The role requires anticipating guest needs and collaborating with servers, bartenders, hosts, and culinary staff to deliver an elevated guest experience.

You will help with table maintenance, food running, and staying attentive to details—ensuring water levels, proper linen replacement, and timely clearing.

Qualifications

• Previous fine-dining, upscale restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to remain composed and organized under pressure.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift and carry trays, bus tubs, plates, glassware, and restaurant supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assist servers in delivering a polished, attentive, and efficient dining experience.
• Maintain continuous awareness of assigned tables and anticipate guest needs.
• Clear finished plates, glassware, silverware, and unnecessary items promptly and discreetly.
• Reset and remark tables according to the next course and Sinatra service standards.
• Maintain appropriate water levels and assist with beverage service as directed.
• Replace soiled or damaged linens immediately, including tablecloths when necessary.
• Use the appropriate napkin based on the guest's attire.
• Keep tabletops clean, organized, and properly presented throughout the entire meal.
• Assist with crumb service and other table-maintenance procedures.
• Never allow clearing, resetting, or side work to interrupt the guest experience.
• Assist with running food quickly and accurately from the kitchen to the correct table.
• Learn table and seat numbers and use them consistently.
• Understand menu items, major ingredients, accompaniments, and proper presentation.
• Confirm plates are complete and properly presented before leaving the kitchen.
• Communicate with servers/managers/culinary staff when something appears incorrect.
• Assist servers with pre-bussing, marking courses, resetting tables, and preparing for the next stage of service.
