Job summary

The Brookings Institution invites undergraduates and graduates in economics, public policy, data science, or applied mathematics to join a 12-week internship in Washington, DC. You will work with leading experts, conduct literature reviews, gather data, and perform basic econometric analyses in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have strong statistics knowledge, experience with R/Python/Stata, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate juniors/seniors or graduate students in a relevant field (economics, public policy, applied mathematics, data science).
• Demonstrated interest in public policy and economics; working knowledge of statistics and econometrics.
• Proficiency with R, Python, or Stata; experience with large datasets and data visualization; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with background research, literature review, and data gathering.
• Perform basic statistical analyses and contribute to empirical projects.
• Prepare informative tables and figures; run regressions.
• Engage on topics such as the future of work, AI, and regional economic development.
