Job summary

The Brookings Institution is offering a 12-week internship in Washington, DC for undergraduate juniors/seniors or graduate students in related fields. Interns work alongside leading experts in government and academia, attend events, and gain practical experience in public policy research. This internship is a hybrid opportunity with in-person presence at our Washington, DC office, and some work-from-home flexibility.

Applicants must be located in the U.S. and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students in junior or senior year or graduate students pursuing a masters degree in relevant fields.
• Interest in international affairs, foreign policy, history, political science, international law, or related fields.
• Background in national security or foreign policy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on foreign policy and national security topics.
• Monitor developments and prepare written briefings, memos, and summaries.
• Support Brookings events and staff during research and events.
• Assist with translating documents depending on language abilities.
