Duke University’s Margolis Institute seeks an Assistant Policy Research Director to lead health policy research projects, focusing on delivery and payment reform at federal/state levels. This role partners with government, industry, and academia to drive high-impact policy analyses.

The position combines in-person and hybrid work across Washington, DC and Durham, NC, with substantial collaboration across Duke faculty and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's or higher in policy, public health, public administration, economics, science, engineering, law, or related field.
• Minimum of six years of progressive policy/research/data analysis experience.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Responsabilités

• Lead a content-specific portfolio of research and policy projects; manage timelines, budgets, and staffing.
• Provide subject-matter leadership in health policy areas like health care transformation and payment reform.
• Collaborate on projects across topics including biomedical innovation, real-world data, regulatory science, and policy.
• Write for technical and non-technical audiences; develop and edit project materials.
• Engage with government agencies, policy organizations, and health systems to build relationships.
• Prepare white papers, policy memos, and peer-reviewed publications.
• Represent Duke-Margolis at events to share research findings and help establish expertise.
• Monitor portfolio priorities and coordinate with sponsors and collaborators.
