Qualifications

• Experience with policy development and procedures in casualty, mortuary affairs, and Military Funeral Honors.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned programs for potential efficiencies based on joint service initiatives and/or federal partnership opportunities.
• Develop policies and procedures within the Department of War (DoW) for casualty, mortuary affairs, and Military Funeral Honors.
• Defend proposed program efforts involving casualty, mortuary affairs, and Military Funeral Honors.
• Influence representatives of diverse organizations to reach consensus on significant matters impacting service members and/or their families.
• Manage, coordinate and facilitate the flow of information between parties.
• Analyze casualty reporting and casualty assistance support to ensure compliance with policy and to make recommendations for improvement.
• Interpret and apply existing law and regulations to a wide range of issues involving casualty, mortuary affairs, and Military Funeral Honors.
• Analyze mortuary affairs support plans and field operations to ensure appropriate mortuary affairs procedures.
