The ideal applicant is committed to gun violence prevention and capable of translating legal information for diverse audiences. This position will require travel and knowledge of firearms and public health laws.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a J.D. and membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar.
• Background in firearms law, domestic violence law, constitutional law, or public policy is preferred.
• Willingness to travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal and legislative research.
• Draft legislation, regulations, and reports.
• Implement risk-based firearm removal policies.
• Give presentations on gun violence and laws.
• Analyze legislation and its implications.
