The DC Department of Employment Services, Office of Legislative Affairs, seeks a professional to manage DOES’ legislative portfolio, monitor and analyze legislation, prepare summaries, and advise leadership on proposed changes before the DC Council and Congress.

The incumbent handles DOES’ legislative portfolio including monitoring, analyzing, reviewing, and providing overviews on legislation, rules, and policy.

Formación

• Specialized experience in legislative affairs or government relations.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinates and reviews legislation, testimony, and correspondence for clearance and alignment with DOES leadership policy.
• Maintains relationships with the Mayor's Office, Deputy Mayor, agency partners, Council staff, and DOES program offices.
• Analyzes legislation proposed by Council or Congress and provides summaries and recommendations for next steps.
