Job summary

FWI's DIA-focused position seeks a Technical Editor/Writer to polish notifications and briefing materials for Capitol Hill and to research DIA history for the Heritage Museum. Based on an on-site schedule in Washington, DC, you will manage high-visibility projects, ensure accuracy, and apply AP Style and the agency's guides while collaborating with OCC and HSTB staff.

The role combines fast-turnaround editing with deep historical research, offering a unique opportunity to influence

Qualifications

• Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, History, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 5+ years of professional technical editing/writing experience.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, AP Style conventions.
• Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC and adhere to 0800–1700 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Notify U.S. Legislative staff and assist with congressional briefings.
• Research and write legislative, communications, and historical products.
• Quality check for grammar, accuracy, and classifications.
• Ensure materials follow AP style and DIA guides.
• Collaborate with OCC and HSTB staff to improve readability.
• Attend meetings and support tight deadlines.
