Job summary

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is seeking a Government Relations Associate in Washington, DC. You will provide substantive policy research, project management, and communications support to advance advocacy priorities across departments.

Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, preparing briefing materials, tracking budgets, and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional-level government relations or policy experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects from conception through completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across divisions and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to track budgets and reporting for departments.
  • Experience engaging diverse audiences and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on legislative and policy issues relevant to the firm.
  • Prepare briefing and communications materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate meetings, advocacy activities, and related events.
  • Support department budget management, tracking expenditures and invoices.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and preserve cross-department communication.
  • Support outreach to diverse audiences and partners as needed.
  • Assist with planning and logistics for advocacy days and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
