Job summary

MFA in Washington, DC is seeking an Intern, Government Affairs for the 2026-2027 academic year in a hybrid arrangement. Session I runs Sept 22–Nov 19, 2026, and Session II runs Jan 6–Apr 8, 2027, with in-office attendance Tue–Thu and flexible hours 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

You will monitor hearings, draft policy updates for MFA members, and participate in weekly Policy team meetings, culminating in a capstone intern research project.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (business, politics, or public policy preferred).
• Able to commit to both sessions (Session I: Sept 22–Nov 19, 2026; Session II: Jan 6–Apr 8, 2027).
• Available to work a minimum of 25 hours/week with in-office attendance Tue, Wed, Thu in Washington, DC.
• Strong interest in financial services policy and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and summarize Congressional hearings, agency meetings, and think tank policy events.
• Assist in drafting communications to MFA members and provide real-time legislative updates.
• Participate in weekly Policy team meetings and MFA committee events.
• Develop and present a capstone intern research project.
