Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an intern for the Federal Governmental Affairs team in Washington, DC. This role supports staff with administrative and research tasks and requires strong written and verbal communication.

Interns work on a 9x80 schedule onsite, with possible course credit. Start date and duration vary by project and student availability. Applicants may need CPT/OPT authorization and should be enrolled in an appropriate degree program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full time in an Undergraduate or Master's Degree Program in Political Science, International Studies, English, or related field.
• A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
• Current Resume or CV.
• Unofficial Transcripts (include current and completed degree programs).
• Current class schedule and number of credits.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and supporting meetings for the INL-DC office.
• Welcoming and assisting office visitors.
• Assisting with office reimbursements.
• Attending congressional hearings and summarizing key takeaways.
• Tracking media coverage and legislative activity.
• Completing a semester-long legislative research project with mentor guidance.
• Performing other duties as assigned based on office needs.
