The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking a Transportation Planner to research, develop, and evaluate state and federal policy proposals for MDOT decision makers. The role provides GIS support for transportation planning and assists staff with active transportation policy and related topics.

Additional responsibilities include data collection and processing, preparing written materials, PowerPoint presentations, and database/spreadsheet development for ISU initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 30 credits in planning, GIS, environmental studies, or related fields.
• Planner levels: 9 requires no specific experience; 10 requires 1 year in planning/mapping; 11 requires 2 years incl. Planner 10.

Responsabilités

• Research, develop, and evaluate state and federal policy proposals for MDOT decision makers.
• Provide GIS support and data processing for transportation planning; create written materials and presentations.
• Support ISU initiatives with databases, spreadsheets, and customer-related tasks.
