Descrizione del lavoro

Transportation Planner 9-P11 (Statewide Transportation Planning Division)

This position is responsible for applying the Multi-Modal Economic Benefit Analysis (MMEBA) platform, developed with the Transportation Economic Development Impact System (TREDIS), Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT’s) primary tool for evaluating the economic impacts of transportation investments. The role also uses the Regional Economic Models, Incorporated (REMI) platform as a forecasting and cross‑check tool to ensure consistency and reliability in results. These tools support estimates of the economic benefits generated by transportation investment packages across multiple modes, Five‑Year Programs, economic stimulus initiatives, and other assigned projects.

Additionally, this position conducts traffic analyses to prepare Travel Analysis Requests (TARs) for trunkline projects identified in MDOT’s Five‑Year Transportation Program (5YTP), working under the guidance of a senior‑level traffic analysis planner or higher. The position also develops and applies technical skills and tools essential to transportation planning, including Geographic Information System (GIS), travel demand modeling software, socio‑economic data development, freight data analysis, and statistical/data analysis. It generates critical data to support MDOT’s planning processes and travel demand models within the SUTA Section.
