Job summary

The LPRO legislative analyst fellowship offers recent graduates a front-row view of Oregon’s policy-making process and exposure to nonpartisan legislative work through a 12-month fellowship starting January 2027 in Salem and hybrid scheduling.

Candidates with a master’s, JD, or professional degree in public policy, public administration, law, or related fields focus on Education, Housing, Maternal and child health, and Public health, with mentorship and opportunities in committee administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (four-year college or university) required.
• Graduate degree within five years of applying in public policy, public administration, law, or related fields.
• Strong desire to learn about the legislative process through hands-on experience.
• Ability to work nonpartisan and serve individuals with differing perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Survey the essential duties of a legislative analyst.
• Learn committee administration, workgroup management, policy research and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues with mentorship by a budgeted mentor.
