Job summary

Xcel Energy invites interns to join the Service Policy team to learn about tariff rules, standards, and regulatory requirements. You will gain exposure to policy administration, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects while working with cross-functional teams.

The internship emphasizes hands-on experience with technology initiatives and may be based in WI or MN; May 24, 2027 start date with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Regulatory Affairs, or Supply Chain Management.
• Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week).
• GPA 3.0+ preferred and coursework in related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research and documentation related to tariff rules, administrative instructions, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support review and organization of Service Policy resources and process documentation.
• Participate in process improvement, including workflow documentation and automation opportunities.
• Support analysts with customer project reviews and exception tracking.
• Help develop training materials and communications for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory, and Customer teams to gather information.
