Job summary

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management seeks a Policy and Compliance Specialist to lead policy analysis, ensure regulatory compliance, and support FOIA processes. This wage position is limited to 1,500 hours per agency during the May 1-April 30 work year, with a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Two days of telework per week are allowed; regular onsite presence is required. Employment includes background checks, fingerprint history, and other standard verifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with policy analysis, research, and data analysis.
• Strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to identify and implement process efficiencies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at various levels.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly, in writing and verbally.
• Experience with FOIA.
