Job summary

The Rhode Island Senate Policy Office seeks a Policy Analyst I to perform in-depth health and human services policy research and provide legislative analysis and recommendations. The role supports Senate members and committees, translating data into concise policy guidance.

Work is on-site at the Rhode Island State House, with occasional after-hours during peak legislative periods. Requires strong research, communication, and office software skills; bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in public

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of health and human services issues.
• Formulate and present actionable policy recommendations for Senate consideration.
• Collaborate with Senate committees, advocacy groups, and stakeholders to identify issues and craft legislative solutions.
• Prepare briefs and pre/post-hearing notes for committee proceedings.
• Mentor interns and fellows in policy research and communications.
