Qualifications

• Education/Training: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position (e.g., policy, public health, public administration, economics, science, engineering, law, or field directly related to the position).
• Experience: For Tier II (Policy Analyst), work requires two years of experience in policy/research/data analysis or related position.
• Strong research and writing experience.
• Policy research skills, including the ability to synthesize content from a broad range of sources.
• Exposure to analyzing and interpreting quantitative data and basic statistical/descriptive analyses.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, R, Stata, SAS, or Python).
• Strong written communication and the ability to transform complicated information into easy-to-understand materials.
• Ability to interact professionally with senior-level individuals and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with trends and regulations in health policy areas.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in standard computing software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Administrative/project coordination experience preferred.
• Training or experience in health policy/public policy/public health/science/engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health policy background research and literature reviews.
• Draft policy briefs, white papers, blog posts, public reports and recommendations.
• Support planning and preparation for Institute events and meetings.
• Prepare oral and written reports and analyses for stakeholders and funders.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate complex information for diverse audiences.
• Identify data sources and evaluate evidence for project questions.
• Coordinate project activities and logistics for timely deliverables.
• Support senior researchers in developing presentations and speaking points.
• Engage with stakeholders to plan seminars and convenings.
