Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. certificate is required.
• A U.S. citizen is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Answering calls and complaints involving fire, auto accidents, and misdemeanor and felony cases.
• Administering first aid, conducting preliminary investigations, gathering evidence, locating witnesses, making arrests, and transporting prisoners.
• Interviewing persons with complaints or inquiries and directing them to proper authorities or dispositions.
• Processing evidence, testifying in court, keeping records, and making reports.
• Using physical force as needed and firearms safely and accurately.
• Other related duties may be assigned as needed.
