Menifee Police Department is seeking Police Recruit candidates who are currently enrolled in a California POST-certified Basic Police Academy. This open recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future vacancies and to support the academy training while representing the City with professionalism.

Recruits must be at least 21, possess a valid California driver's license, and pass POST background, medical, and psychological screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend, participate in, and complete a California POST-certified Basic Police Academy.
• Engage in academic coursework covering criminal law, civil law, patrol procedures, ethics, and community policing.
• Participate in physical conditioning, defensive tactics, and scenario-based exercises.
• Receive instruction in emergency response, first aid, defensive driving, and use of firearms.
• Complete all exams, evaluations, and logs required by the academy and department.
• Uphold the department's values, professionalism, and ethical standards.
• Represent the department in a courteous, respectful manner with staff, recruits, and the public.
