The Suwanee Police Department will be recruiting for a Police Recruit with interviews in September. The Police Recruit is a non-sworn position responsible for participating in a comprehensive training program to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to become a certified Police Officer for the City of Suwanee. Under close supervision and guidance from training staff and experienced officers, the recruit will attend academy sessions, participate in practical exercises, and learn the principles of law enforcement, community policing, and public safety.
The Police Recruit will be attending the Police Academy in January 2027. Interviews will occur in September with the intentions of having the candidate complete background and begin working in November / December 2026.
The City of Suwanee provides police service 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays, is required.
Successful completion of the pre-employment process, which includes oral interview, background check, criminal records and traffic history check, medical and drug screening, psychological evaluation, and polygraph evaluation.
